My cat was always free-spirited, and whether I was happy or sad, they were always in their usual spot, which always calmed my heart. I remember how, when I was a student, they would wait for me at the entrance when I came home from school, and whenever I lay down, they would always climb onto my stomach. Recalling how they smelled like the sun when I buried my face in their belly, I painted this imagining that they might have been secretly taking walks in the sky.

愛猫はいつも自由気ままで、わたしが嬉しいときも悲しいときも同じように定位置にいて、それがいつも心を落ち着かせてくれました。当時学生だったわたしが学校から帰ると玄関で待っていてくれて、わたしが寝転ぶといつもお腹に乗ってきました。愛猫のお腹に顔を埋めるとお日様のにおいがしていたことを思い出して、こっそり空の散歩をしていたのかもしれないなと想像して描きました。
