京都の街を歩いていると、
ふと、猫の気配に出会うことがあります。
高橋美紀子がつくる猫たちは、
少し不思議で、どこかとぼけていて、
それぞれが静かに自分の時間を過ごしています。
いつもの街角に猫が一匹いるだけで、
見慣れた景色が、少しだけやわらかく見えてくる。
立ち止まって、目を合わせて。
京都の町家に現れた猫たちとともに、
街のなかにある小さな気配をお楽しみください。
本展は、高橋美紀子にとって初めての京都個展。

There Are Cats in This City.
At the end of an alley, beneath the eaves, by a quiet window —
as you wander through Kyoto, a cat may quietly appear.
The cats created by Mikiko Takahashi are a little mysterious, a little playful, and somehow full of character.
Each seems to be quietly going about its own day.
Sometimes, the simple presence of a cat
can make a familiar street feel just a little softer.
Pause for a moment. Meet their gaze.
Inside a traditional Kyoto machiya,
these cats quietly appear among the textures of the city,
inviting us to notice the small signs of life hidden in everyday scenes.
Marking Mikiko Takahashi’s first solo exhibition in Kyoto,
this exhibition is jointly presented and curated by MOTTO ART × Still Moss Tokyo.
